Selena Gomez joined the growing number of celebrities who made it out to her longtime close friend Taylor Swift’s Eras tour—and posted about her experience on Instagram. Gomez shared a gushing tribute to Swift after attending the Arlington, Texas show Saturday night, writing, “Thank you bestie for having me and my sissy transport into your mystical, euphoric and special world. Proud to know you! love you forever and always.”
Gomez attended the concert with her nine-year-old sister Gracie Elliot Teefey. Both Gomez and Gracie dressed like different eras of Swift’s career. Gomez opted for the Folklore era, wearing Swift’s cardigan merch. She opted to recreate Swift’s beauty look too with professional help.
Dallas, Texas makeup artist Kristen Farrah posted a glam shot of Gomez before the show, showing the work she did to help Swift recreate Swift’s aesthetic. Farrah wrote, “Not sure what’s more iconic, @selenagomez wearing @taylorswift ‘s folklore cardigan look or the fact that I got to do her makeup 😭💖💘Such an honor to meet this kind soul. Using my favorite @rarebeauty blush on Selena was truly a full circle moment 🤍”
This is the second tribute Gomez has paid Swift in the last week. During the iHeartRadio Music Awards at the end of March, Gomez appeared in a montage of celebrities honoring Swift for winning the ceremony’s Innovator Award. Gomez said in it, “She can represent what she’s walking through so well. She’s a role model. I don’t think that’s something you sign up for; I just think it’s something you inherently have inside of you, and I think that’s Taylor.”
Swift and Gomez have been close friends since 2008 when they each dated a Jonas Brother (Swift with Joe Jonas and Gomez with Nick Jonas). While they keep their friendship largely private, they’ll sometimes give the public glimpses together. During Gomez’s 30th birthday last July, for example, Gomez posted a pic of them celebrating:
