Liam Payne’s former fiancee Maya Henry has been bombarded by vile abuse on social media following the tragic news of his death this morning.

Henry had recently accused the One Direction singer of repeated unwanted contact before his death, and the model had reportedly started legal proceedings and issued a cease and desist letter against the 31-year-old last week.

However this morning, trolls have sent sickening abuse to Henry on social media with one writing: “Now he is dead. Are you happy?”

Another wrote: “It was all your fault.”

In a TikTok video on October 6, Henry claimed that, since their break-up, the singer would “blow up my phone” from different numbers.

“Ever since we broke up he messages me, (will) blow up my phone,” she said.

“It’s always from different phone numbers too. I never know where it’s going to come from.

“He’ll create new iCloud accounts to message me… also he will email me… not only me but he’ll blow up my mum’s phone. Is that normal behaviour to you?”

She claimed Payne was also messaging her friends, and that he encouraged his fans to make comments about her.

Henry and Payne began dating in 2019 and got engaged in August 2020.

The pair split during lockdown and announced they had broken off their engagement in June 2021.

Payne admitted to The Diary Of A CEO podcast that year that he was “disappointed” in himself for “hurting people” and said he was “working” on himself and his emotions.

He added: “That’s where I got to in my last relationship. I just wasn’t giving a very good version of me anymore, that I didn’t appreciate and I didn’t like being.

“I can honestly say I feel better out of it. I didn’t feel good doing what I did but it had to happen. That’s just the corniest way of saying it was the best for us both – whatever, cool, nice story, bro.

“But it just feels like that. I know it was a problem so I need to sort myself. I already feel good. It has already got me more concentrated and I hope she is happy.”

Payne was in a relationship with influencer Kate Cassidy at the time of his death.

He previously dated former Girls Aloud star Cheryl from 2016 until 2018, and their son, Bear, was born in March 2017.
