Dua Lipa just debuted an extra short ‘Birkin bangs’ micro-fringe

Within our metaphorical hairspo file, Dua Lipa has her very own category. Sitting among the Kardashians, said category holds a roster of cuts and styles which, over the years, have come to us via the singer’s work in the industry. From bright magenta hair to two-toned ‘Gemini’ lengths, there’s not much she hasn’t ticked off of the list. And today’s hairstyle is no exception… in other words, it’s a look to rival any.

In her most recent Instagram post, Dua shared that she is the latest cover star for The NYTimes Style Magazine. And of course, with a job as such, the star debuted the news in style with a brand new micro-fringe.

Saying goodbye to her chest-length locks, Dua has had her face-framing strands cut just above eyebrow length. See all that we’re describing below:

As shown, Dua’s freshly cut fringe is of a choppy, jagged style which gives texture and edge to her look. This is one that the legendary fashion muse, Jane Birkin rocked in the 60s, hence the style’s namesake ‘Birkin bangs’.

Celebrity hairstylist Rio Sreedharan was the creative genius behind all of Dua’s looks from the shoot. Scroll through the below carousel posts to see his featured work:

Now, as we can see, the short micro-fringe Dua rocks on the cover is nowhere to be seen in the subsequent images. This leads us to believe that the style is a clip-in hairpiece/or wig.

Nevertheless, whether faux or not, this short style is a look that’ll go down in history (read: the Cosmo hairspo files). Snaps for Miss Dua.
